The Nezavisnost Trade Union Confederation is an independent, non-governmental labour organization working to protect the interests and rights of its members.

     It was founded in 1991 in response to the growing social crisis, poverty, unemployment, extreme nationalism and war and in the conviction that a united labour front guided by the principles of union solidarity can help safeguard labour interests and bring about radical political, economic and social reforms.

     Nezavisnost has a rich history of actions, campaigns and projects. It has managed to maintain its own profile, autonomy and courage in very complex conditions. It has also succeeded in becoming a large and reputable labour organization that will play an important role in coming events in our society.
